24 Oct 2022
Construction of Ghanzi mini stadium boundary wall, which was halted following the collapse of some sections two years ago, will resume soon.
The erection of the 2km boundary wall was reported to be at 40 per cent when it collapsed.
Briefing Ghanzi North MP, Johane Thiite, during a tour of community constituency projects recently, Ghanzi East assistant council secretary, Gabobofane Mbwe, said four OC grade companies would be engaged to complete the remaining portion.
He explained that 16 shortlisted OC grade companies from the constituency database would bid for the work from which four would be selected for the work.
Mbwe was hopeful that construction would resume before end of November and noted that stock bricks and not blocks would be used, and the cost of work would still be within budget.
He explained that that the cost of work still within projected budget when using stock bricks.
Meanwhile, the funding model of the project is that construction of the perimeter wall, sewage lines, connection of utilities (power and water) will be gone by government while Olympia Africa develops sporting pitches. ENDS
