Premier league defending champions, Gaborone United, have vowed to do all in their power to defend the title.
Assistant coach, Pontsho Moloi, said in an interview on the side lines of the team’s media engagement in Gaborone this week that they had a good pre-season.
“The team looks good and we should be ready for the season. There will be no excuses, let the games begin,” he said.
Moloi said he was confident that the boys would continue with their hunger, fighting spirit and the zeal to win.
He said the Money Machine would fight for any silverware that would be available, adding they had refreshed the squad with a couple of new players.
Moloi said beefing up the squad would put them in a good space to conquer.
“We work as a team, we have quality players and our everyday training is intensive because of the quality that we have,” he said.
Moloi said he was happy that players competed against each other, adding such mentality would help GU to achieve its target.
The team’s captain, Mpho Kgaswane, said players had been preparing well for the league, adding they were also aware that competition would be tough as all teams would be aiming to dethrone GU.
“Knowing that all the teams will come with guns blazing is a morale booster for us, it make us to work hard at training knowing that we have a lot to defend at the end of the day,” he said.
Kgaswane said he was happy that players were looking forward to the new season. ENDS
