Botswana will face Zambia today in a do or die clash in the COSAFA Under-20 Championships at the Mavuso Stadium in eSwatini.
The Young Zebras lost a game against the hosts and won one against Mauritius.
So, they have to beat Zambia for them to have a chance of proceeding to the semi final stage.
Zambia has amassed six points from two games while Botswana and eSwatini have three points each.
Coach Oupa Kowa said in an interview that the boys were determined to get a positive result against Zambia.
“The most important thing is approach as Zambia plays a good passing game and we must match them,” he said.
The coach also said the Zambians were good at playing wide and crossing the ball into the box.
Kowa said his team played a similar type of football and that it had players who could match t Zambia.
Kowa also said he hoped Mauritius and eSwatini played a draw as it would keep Botswana on the second position.
He also noted that it would depend on the goal difference from other groups.
Botswana beat Mauritius 1-0 on Sunday courtesy of Botshelo Motsheja’s strike.
Kowa said he was not happy with his boys performance because they were too causal.
“I take it that they undermined their opponents,” he said. ENDS
