Botswana under 20 boy’s national team is expected to redeem their pride against Mauritius in 2022 COSAFA Men's under-20 Championships, at Somhlolo Stadium today.
On Friday Botswana lost 2-1 to the host eSwatini due to a defensive error in the dying minutes of the game which gave eSwatini three valuable points.
eSwatini goals were netted by Nonofo Mosweunyana’s own goal and Mayibongwe Mabuza. Mosweunyane also scored a solo goal for Botswana.
Coach Oupa Kowa said in an interview that they would approach Mauritius in a different manner, saying that players should be calm and not be desperate to win as they might make mistakes.
“We will display the same determination as we did against eSwatini and hope for the best results,’ he said.
The coach said in their opening game, they played eSwatini with a positive mind hoping and wishing for good results.
“We should have played a 1-1 draw which was, until about three minutes before end of the game and we made a mistake and ended up with 2 -1,”he said”.
The coach however was happy that the boys played well, despite the mistake in the dying minutes of the game.
