Over 120 teams are expected to feature in The Good Samaritans Football Tournament to be played during the Independence Holidays at various wards in Molepolole South constituency. 

The tournament has been sponsored by Molepolole South MP Kabo Morwaeng at the tune of over P100 000.

Speaking at the launch of the tournament recently, Morwaeng said the idea was to encourage a healthy lifestyle and also to engage youth, thereby diverting their attention from social ills. 

He also intended to encourage unity amongst residents. Morwaeng, who is also the Minister for State President, promised a better sponsorship next year, adding it would be better if another sponsor could come on board.  

He further said he would do everything in his power to ensure that all participating teams were provided with playing kits.

The minister has given P1 000 as appearance fees for each team. 

The number of teams in each ward however varies, as some have 14 teams and others are seven or eight.

Therefore, 14 teams would be playing for P14 000 while others play for P8 000. 

The tournament features football teams for both the men and ladies as well as netball. Ends
