BDF Cats trounce Prisons

BDF Cats defeated Prisons 52-21 in a Lucara Netball League encounter at SSKB Court on Saturday.
BDF Cats, who lost 30-35 to log leaders Police recently, approached the weekend game with a sense of urgency.
Experienced players; Hilda Binang, Maungo Simone and Maipelo Mosotho proved too hard to handle for Prisons.
BDF won the first quarter 13-7, but Prisons came into the second quarter a better side as they managed to keep their opponents at bay, eventually closing the gap and finishing the second quarter trailing with eight goals.
But things took a different turn in the third quarter as BDF Cats came with guns blazing and put the score beyond reach at 40-19.
BDF Cats extended their lead in the last quarter as they made it difficult for of Prisons to win the game.
Prisons coach, Regent Pitso, said in an interview that their opponents had fielded experienced players, who proved difficult to handle.“Even in our bench, we were so limited. Our subs did not come to the party, but if you look at BDF Cats, their subs were more effective compared to ours,” he said.Pitso, however, said he was happy with his team’s display in the second quarter as they demonstrated that they could match their opponents.
For his part, BDF Cats coach, Mapeni Ntwaagae, said she was happy that the players were ready for the game.“They hardly find game time, but because we are preparing for Top 8, we will need all our arsenal,” she said
In other games, Police beat Jwaneng 51-16, Notwane won 32-25 against UB Crystals, while on the men’s side Vipers won 44-32 against Prisons. ENDS
