Spinning challenge in Mmamashi tomorrow

Car spinning fanatics are expected to pack the KC 12 Park in Mmamashia for the first instalment of a spinning challenge known as Chill Session Botswana.

Speaking in an interview, event organiser, Sexton Leepile, popularly known as The General said they had put in place all the necessary logistics to offer a more exciting contest.

He noted that the competition was meant to select the best five spinners who are billed to perform in South Africa with the best of the best in the continent.

Leepile said after the South African show, which was pencilled for end of year, the spinners would have a chance to travel to the United Kingdom to take part in one of the global spinning showpieces at a date yet to be finalised.

He said this weekend’s show would attract a number of spinners from Limpopo, Cape Town and Johannesburg to give the local crowd endless thrill as they have done in the past shows.

The chill session has attracted a considerable number of reputable spinners headlining the list being the Dada siblings Renzo and his young brother Mano from the Northern Cape.

The two brothers from Team Saluki impressed in their past performances with Mano being the youngest spinner and Renzo renowned for his breathtaking stunts.

Other entertaining guests include Tshephang Mkhonza fondly known as Isla Bonita and Team Mahonie.

The local boys will bet their last coins on the likes of Thuto Rasegojwa also known as Sheriff in spinning.

The 44-year-old Rasegojwa has been the Botswana National Championship since 2017 with a long list of performances in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Lesotho.

He is also ranked second in SADC in the Ignition TV Burn Out Kings Show.  

Another local act who is likely to steal the show is King Joe.

Others on the line up locally include Ginimbi, Jo Bleksem, Magistrate, Given Stephen of Ghetto child and Dobenas.

The spinners will burn tyres while performing incredible stunts such as snake, doughnut, tyre bounce, power slide, free style, figure 8 and roll back packing among others.

Spinning in Botswana has grown from leaps and bounds making it the second biggest motorsport in the country after the legendary Toyota Desert Race popularly known as Mantshwabisi.

Since its introduction local motorsport fans have embraced the sport which looks like a near death experience with wild applause.  ENDS
