Letsile Tebogo’s great exploits at the recent World Athletics Junior Championships in Cali, Columbia have earned him recognition.

Emergency Assist 991 gave the 100 metre runner P50 000 and a Class B driver training package.

The sensational Tebogo took the world by storm when he registered a world junior record of 9.91 at the junior champs.

Emergency Assist 991 also gave Tebogo’s mother a free roadside assistance while coach Dose Mosimanyane received P10 000 from the company’s executive director, Simon Modisaemang.

Speaking during the recent handover ceremony, Modisaemang said the company came into being 19 years ago.

He said business challenges motivated them to go all out to work hard, just like Tebogo did.

Modisaemang said they rewarded Tebogo to motivate him to continue breaking his own records.

“This is the beginning of the support. We wish that other entities can support the champion in his endeavour to continue making the country proud,” he said.

Modisaemang also thanked Tebogo’s mother for sharing the athlete with Batswana, saying that the mother guided him to become a champion.

Emergency Assist 991 driving academy manager, Paul Setswe, said their mandate was to build the next generation of best drivers, adding it was evident that Botswana was losing many lives through road traffic accidents.

Setswe said through their programme, they sought to build a new mind-set among drivers.

“For you Letsile, we are offering a free scholarship to undergo training within our driver training institution.

So, whenever you are free, come to us and spend three months with us, so that you get your drivers’ licence and most importantly, become our road safety ambassador,” he said.

Tebogo thanked Emergency Assist 991 for recognising his efforts, adding he would continue to work hard to fly the country’s flag high. ENDS
