Team Botswana coach, Chilume Ntshwarang, says athletes are unfazed and ready to leave a mark at the World Athletics Junior Championships in Cali, Columbia. The team arrived on Sunday.
Tebogo Letsile (100m) and 4x400 mixed relay team will take to the tracks tonight.
Ntshwarang said despite arriving late in Cali, his team prepared thoroughly during their preparatory camp in Pretoria.
“We arrived Sunday morning, and other athletes arrived later. We needed at least two days to acclimatize, with that it was going to be better,” he said.
Despite breaking the world junior record, Letsile said he was not under pressure about today’s race.
“In fact most of my opponents are intimidated by just seeing me, but honestly we closed the season when we ran the world record,” he said. Ends
