Premier league giants, Jwaneng Galaxy, have extended the contract of their coach, Morena Ramoreboli.
The contract, which was supposed to elapse next month, has been extended by a further 10 months.
In an interview, Galaxy’s spokesperson, Tankiso Morake, said the decision was taken because the management was satisfied with the South African’s performance.
“If you recall well, Ramoreboli came to the team at a time when most of our influential players were leaving. So, all along he has basically been in the building process and we are satisfied with what he achieved under those circumstances,” he said.
Morake said Ramoreboli guided the team to its first ever group stage in the CAF Champions League.
“He also managed to finish on position three in the league and this made us confident that he needed to be given more time. He has done all the basics and obviously we are now expecting him to achieve the deliverables we have put before him, such as winning the league and qualifying for the CAF competitions as well as winning us the Orange FA Cup,” he said.
On the movement of players at the team, Morake indicated that they meet him next week so he could share plans of where he wanted the team beefed up and which players to release.
“Naturally when the season starts, players will come and go according to the recommendation of the technical bench,” he said, refusing to commit on who they expected to sign and release.
He, however, hinted that they were expecting one of their players to move abroad.
Ramoreboli was first brought to Galaxy in 2021 when the team started its campaign in the CAF competitions.
