Bonatla win social clubs tournament

Bonatla are this year’s The Good Samaritans champions.
They beat Kobokwe Masters 3-2 in a final game played at Lewis Memorial School grounds in Molepolole on Monday.
Bonatla walked away with P4 000, gold medals and a floating trophy and the prize money included P2 500 appearance fee and P1 500 for winning the tournament.
Their victory came after winning 3-2 via penalties following a one-all draw at regular time.
Runners up, Kobokwe Masters went home with P3 500 and silver medals while Matlapeng got P3 000 and bronze medals.
The tournament, which was in its fourth edition, was sponsored at a tune of P25 000 and featured 10 social clubs which were all given P2 500 appearance fees.
A moment of silence was held for MoAfrika player, who collapsed and died during the games on Saturday.
Morwaeng urged teams to fully support the bereaved family and also promised to assist them during the difficult times.
Handing over medals, Morwaeng promised each team and supporters a much better tournament next year, which he promised would be bigger, with better prize money and he will also offer kits to all competing teams.
The tournament is held annually during the President’s Day and it seeks to promote sport in the village and encourage physical exercise in building health and wellness as well as unity.
It also helps players from different clubs to know each and further engage each other on social issues including Gender Based Violence (GBV) owing to the number of GBV cases that had rocked the village. ENDS
