Police IX, BDF IX, Wells and Vikings men teams have booked slots at the Selebi Phikwe Softball Extravaganza 2022 due in a fortnight.

The quartet qualified during elimination games held at the National Diamond and Univerity of Botswana grounds over the weekend.

They joined the four women teams; Police IX, Titans, BDF IX and Vikings that qualified recently.

The eight teams from the south will face eight others from the north.

Botswana Softball Association development officer, Tebogo Johannes, said the elimination process on the men’s category was a single round robin, which meant that the team which won more games automatically occupied the first spot, followed by position two, three and four.

Police won all their games to be position one followed by Viking which lost one out of the five games.

On the other bracket, Wells won their five games followed by BDF IX that won four.

Police IX outclassed Bears 7-0 in their first game, then hammered Gatalamotho 5-4.

They went on to clobber Warriors 8-2 and drubbed Vikings 4-3.

Police IX cemented their victory by walloping UB Giants 9-0.

Wells walloped BDF IX 5-3, and whitewashed Dinare 8-1.

Wells went on to stamp their authority by beating BMC Rivals 1-0 and sealed their winning feat by thrashing Panthers 4-1.  ENDS
