MRS Botswana 2021/22 Queen Ambrosia Samboko will be among 90 beauties from across the globe who will battle it out for the coveted MRS Universe crown at Seoul in South Korea.

The local queen, who jetted off to Seoul yesterday, will compete in MRS Universe grand finale billed to run from June 22 to July 1.

During the wardrobe viewing session organised by MRS Botswana brand and other stakeholders on Monday, Samboko expressed gratitude and appreciation towards entities that supported her throughout her journey as MRS Botswana.

 She hailed them for standing by her through the preparations for the MRS Universe pageant.

Timber Garments supplied all the material for her finale gown, which was designed by Butterfly Couture.

Other wardrobe sponsors included Keno Suits, Lesedi Matlapeng, Golden Threads, Met Designs, and Rare Mosadi 8^th Perfection.

The goal of the wardrobe viewing session was to show appreciation for all stakeholders who helped build the wardrobe that would be used during the competition.

Giving a hint of what is expected of her as part of the progression of the competition, Samboko said she was expected to participate in charity and community-building projects, address Gender-Based Violence issues and advocate for child welfare and protection measures, among other things.

She further said that she would also be expected to give presentations about the projects she was working on, and that the scores she earned would also be used as part of her continuous assessment.

For her part, the founder and director of MRS Botswana brand, Kgalalelo Lesetedi noted that MRS Botswana pageantry was to accord married women a platform to keep up their pageantry dreams, and also to dispel the myths that pageantry was not ideal for married women.

“Married women are equally talented and they also deserve a platform to showcase their talent outside marriage circles.

The pageantry also intends to capacitate married women with empowerment skills and ways to tackle social issues affecting marriages and homes,” she said. ENDs
