Dijeng said the themes in the story include: a gangster reforming to become a successful artist after acquainting himself with CIPA and COSBOTS policies; discussion on the pros and cons of polygamy; a bullied student, who is also neglected by her mother and uses her writing skills to heal as well as issues of intergenerational relationships and the havoc they can cause wreck to families.
