The newly crowned Miss little junior Idol, Kimberly Matheakgomo is a young girl with a very high potential in the modelling and pageantry industry.

The nine-year-old recently won the Miss little junior Idol title in Thailand and pocketed US$1000 (more than P12 300). She also emerged the best in the dance category, which earned her an opportunity to be trained in dancing lessons virtually in Thailand.

Kim as she is affectionately called was competing with other children from countries across the globe in a pageantry that aims at giving exposure to children who have a passion for modelling.

Junior Idol world director Siripriya Sirisawangwat said in a video that the little beauty queen was a very good dancer and they would make sure that they trained her to become one of the best dancers in the world.

In an interview, the energetic beauty queen, said she was happy, to have represented the country well.

Kim got her start in the industry at only five-year-old when she enrolled at Beauty Hub Academy in Gaborone, a modelling school.

She said through the Beauty Hub Academy, she learnt facial expression, confidence and walk, the techniques that helped her to beat other contestants.

“I want to encourage other kids to know that they too can do it. I aspire to be a doctor and I will continue with pageantry.

 My wish is to compete at the Miss Botswana pageant,” she said.

Her mother Lebogang Matheakgomo said she had always embraced pageantry, something, which helped Kim to compete in beauty pageants.

In 2018 she was crowned Miss little all preschool, and in 2019 she walked home with the Miss Little Diamond title.

The standard four pupil was recently crowned first Princess at the Little Miss Royal International in Botswana.

“Kim has won more than 3 titles already, and this shows her ability,” a fan on social media said.

Miss little junior idol has also participated in dance competitions. In 2019 she excelled in the kids with ambition competition while in 2019 she took part in the Global dance supreme competition in South Africa.

The little girl already owns a dance school dubbed Kat Kim, Delight Dance, which  trains little girls and everyone on different dance moves.

She has also taken part in social responsibility activities by donating to the elderly in Molapowabojang and SOS children’s home.  ENDS
