Dads Brunch Club to honour fathers
15 Jun 2022
Fathers will be honoured for their roles during Father’s Day gig dubbed Dad’s Brunch Club at Pilediwa Getaway on Saturday.
Botswana will on June 19 join other nations to celebrate Father’s Day.
The day recognises fathers for the roles they play and the day is characterised by gifting.
While most families will be planning a special day for the dads on Sunday, there will be a Dads’ Brunch Club event on Saturday.
Dads Brunch Club seeks to promote fathers and encourage them to share stories and ideas on parenting in the 21st century.
“This is a celebration of fatherhood and the modern day with four dads competing for the fathers who are present,”said Sadie Swartz the event organiser.
She said they hoped the event would encourage other fathers to take pride in participating in their children’s upbringing.
“Also of importance during the day, will be a platform for fathers to discuss amongst themselves about issues of mental health in a space that allows them to freely engage,” said Swartz.
She said this year there would be no professional to address mental issues, but promised to engage professionals in the next edition of Dads’ Brunch Club next year.
Entrance to the event is in two packages of dad’s club and dad’s only packages.
The dad’s club package, which costs P2 500 is inclusive of entrance ticket for one child, food for both child and father, a choice of alcohol, full day entertainment and child minder services, free car wash and on-site legends Barber cut voucher to redeem at a later date.
The day only package costs P1 500 and comprises ticket for a dad, food, a bottle of whiskey and mixers, free car wash as well as legends Barber cut voucher.
Meanwhile, Choppies Botswana will also celebrate Father’s Day at Grand Aria Hotel on Saturday.
According to Choppies Facebook page, the day will be colourful and exciting with four dads competing for the title Braai Master.
The four fathers competing in the Braai Master challenge are Thapelo Olopeng, Solly Reikeletseng, Losika ‘Luzboy’ Seboni and Tshepang ‘DJ Izzy’ Motsisi.
The Choppies Father’s Day Family Fun day will feature fun activities for the children such as face painting, and the first 300 people will get free entry to the event. Both events will start at 10am. ENDS
