First teen music festival on the cards
08 Jun 2022
A clean fun music show, Teen Fun Festival for teenagers is scheduled for Saturday at Gaborone Club with various activities for the day.
Teen Fun Festival is the brainchild of Oteng Ntshinogang throgh his company The Effective Firm, which is an events management company and also a member of Botswana Entertainment Promoters Association.
This is an event that will cater for school-going teenagers from age 13-19.
However, anyone who wishes to attend is allowed as it is a day event which will start at 10am and end at 6pm.
Teenagers have always been overlooked in music shows with much attention and resources given to adults while a big part of the mainstream music genre of every season is made popular and targeted towards them.
“We came with this concept because we realised that teens are not usually granted an opportunity to experience their favourite artistes,” explained Ntshinogang.
He said although it was a teenagers’ event, adults would also be in attendance while parents and guardians were allowed to accompany their children to the event.
“However, we feel that our teenagers can take care of themselves and we want to assure them of our trust,” he said.
Featuring all teenagers’ favourite, amapiano artistes such as South Africa’s Pabi Cooper and Uncle Vinny, Botswana’s finest DJs, and many others, the show promises a memorable experience for the teens.
“Teens should expect electrifying performances by their favourite artistes and they will also have a photo opportunity,” said Ntshinogang, adding that they were aware of the love for selfies by teens with their favourite artistes.
Besides music, Ntshinogang said there would also be games, food and fun activities for the teens during the day.
He said Legends Barbershop would also be available for anyone wishing to have a haircut at a discounted price.
To make it a whole teen vibe event, Ntshinogang said they had partnered with youthful companies for the provision of services.
Intelligence Asset and Security Services will be responsible for the teens’ safety on the day while Wing It On will be providing food and drinks.
Chillstep Sundays will be on the site selling their merchandise while Critical Emergency Care Ambulance Service will be on site for any medical emergency that may arise. BOPA
