Magdalene Losolebe alias Charma Gal is planning a music festival of epic proportions at the National Stadium on October 29.

The festival aptly dubbed Kgosi ya Mosadi will feature 65-year-old DRC rumba king, Koffi Olomide.

The Kgosi ya Mosadi festival will be a collaboration between Charma Gal productions and Lesh T productions.

It will also feature a number of Botswana artists whose names will be revealed once all logistics are finalised.

Among the preparations will be activation shows across the country and in Zambia, Zimbabwe aswell as Namibia.

Speaking during a press conference in Gaborone on Monday, the director of Lesh T productions, Lesego Tikologo noted that a portion of the profits generated from the festival will be donated to the families of Charma Gal’s dancers, who perished in a road accident in 2016.

He stated that the deaths of the dancers had left a financial void for their families.

Charma Gal has maintained her consistency and successfully penetrated an industry that has always been perceived as male-dominated, hence the title Kgosi ya Mosadi festival to celebrate her achievements.

“The local entertainment industry market is becoming more saturated by the day, as such, I believe it is relevant to seek international recognition and exposure and to share the stage with Koffi Olomide is the ideal way,” she explained.

The press conference was also attended by one of Olomide’s representatives, Nuni Godrick, who shared that Olomide would have liked to attend but was precluded by other entertainment-related commitments in the United States

The award winning Charma Gal has won the hearts of many and has become a household name, while the DRC performer has made a name for himself with styles such as Soukous and Dombolo. Ends
