Nico United take four-week break

Nico United will take a four-week break before commencing preparations for the Premier League.
“These boys played well and doing so at a high intensity,” said Nico stand-in coach, Peter Muchina.
Muchina, who drilled the second string Nico team that thrashed Sankoyo Bush 4-1, Saturday, said they had been playing under immense pressure from the first day to the last.
“The pressure was too much, but we managed to soak it up and remain cool,” added Muchina.
Nico completed their season with a single loss to Green Lovers and went on to win 14 games while drawing seven of their 22 First Division North (FDN) league games.
Out of these games, Majombolo, Nico affectionate moniker, accumulated 49 points, thus 10 points more than the runners-up Eleven Angels. This outstanding performance saw Nico declared FDN champions with three games in hand.
In other games, Green Lovers confirmed Tafic relegation through a 2-0 victory at Masilo Grounds, Serowe over the weekend.
Tafic joined other former premier league teams such as Francistown City Greens, TASC and Great North Tigers at Francistown Regional Football Association.
Tafic now pin their hopes on Eleven Angels to win promotional playoffs so that they could have a second bite of the cherry when they play best loser of the FDN promotional playoffs to fill the vacancy left by Angels.
Other games played saw Chadibe and Motlakase Power Dynamos playing to a 2-all draw, Calendar Stars and Angels played to a 1-all draw, Maun United Terrors and Peacemakers drew 0-0 2 while Miscellaneous and Santa Green drew 1-1. Ends
