Botswana Spinmasters chairperson, Thuso Mudongo, says they are impressed by overall performance of spinners.

He said in an interview after a thrilling SADC Burn Out Fiesta on Saturday that car spinning fans got value for their money as popular spinners from the Southern African region showcased their best spinning maneuvers.

The KC12 spinning arena in Mmamashia was packed to the rafters and hundreds of car spinning buffs could not get enough of the hair raising moves.

The crowd went wild with excitement as the daring spinners swept the track with their BMW 325s fondly known as Gusheshe.

The show attracted the likes of local spinners such as the veteran Saxton Leepile also known as the General, Mothusi Alfred of Northside Crew, Thabo Mudongo of BWSpinmasters, Given Stephen from Francistown and Kagiso Nkwebi of team Block 8 taking on international drifters such as Lesotho’s Seisa Mohapi, Stupid Crew of eSwatini, Isla Bonita of Mpumalanga and Cape Town’s Eddie Rasta.

The spinners teared up tyres performing incredible stunts such as snake, doughnut, tyre bounce, power slide, free style, figure eight and roll back packing among others.

Lesotho’s Mohapi and Eddie Rasta emerged the crowd’s favorite every time they drifted in the small space with great accuracy.

In the free style contest Mohapi drifted with the dexterity of a wizard, showing his opponents a clean pair of heels.

He commanded much respect for his car which is usually described as the best choice for drifting. Mohapi snarled around the obstacles with ease, at one point alighting from his high speed moving vehicle to the delight of the voluble crowd.Eddie was impressive too managing to drift between obstacles and other challenging stunts.

The local boys did not disappoint either. Top of the list was Nkwebi who showed maturity in his gusheshe taking on the most difficult power slide with less effort.  ENDS
