Debutant Letsile comes fifth

Botswana’s sensational sprinter, Tebogo Letsile, has impressed in his Diamond League debut.
He finished fifth in men’s 100m with a time of 10.12 seconds in Eugene, Unites States on Saturday.
Trayvon Bromell of the US won the race in 9.93 seconds setting a new Diamond League record in the race, followed closely by his fellow countrymen Fred Kelly with 9.98 seconds.
Erriyon Knighton of the US, who recently set a World U-20 record in 200m, came in the sixth position with a time of 10.14.
Letsile was the first Motswana to feature in a 100m sprint at the Diamond League.
The star studded race was also picked as the highlight and must watch race of the meet.
It did not disappoint as it was won by Bromell, setting the fastest time in the history of the Diamond League.
Meanwhile, Isaac Makwala finished seventh in the men’s 400m in 45.35 seconds.
The next Diamond League meet will be in Morocco on June 5. ENDS
