Miss Teen International Botswana re-brands

22 May 2022

The country’s popular pageant Miss Teen International Botswana (MTIB) has now rebranded to Miss Teen Botswana (MTB) under the new logo.
Speaking during the re-branding event in Gaborone on Saturday, founder and the director of Diamond Pageantry Academy (DPA) Nicole Gaelebale who is also the pageant licence holder said the rebranding was motivated by the fact that the pageant reached out to over hundreds of teenagers across the country.

“As we grow each year we always look forward to young ladies who are eager to chase their dreams and passionate about leaving a mark everywhere they go. MTB is a platform to help young ladies grow and nature their talents,” she said.

The academy also launched the top 50 finalists who will be competing for the most prestigious teen title.
She pointed out that the competition would have three fast track events including the fitness challenge, multimedia and talent awards. The winners of these fast track events would automatically make it to the top 25.

Gaelebale further confirmed that the preliminary competition was billed for July 2 where all the 50 contestants would be shortlisted to 25 for the coveted title on August 27 where the winner would stand a chance to represent Botswana at Miss Teen international competition.

The reigning Queen Gimhani Perera will also be travelling to India to compete for Miss Teen International on July 30.
Gaelebale explained that MTB was organised with the sole mandate of discovering starlets within a girl-child with ‘Believe in your dream’ slogan.

She said the competition also granted young girls a chance to interact with others across the world hence learning about other cultures and widening their horizons as they got to represent their country and culture.

“A pageant like this one creates a bigger opportunity for the contestants to participate in the international pageantry,” she said. Gaelebale called on local companies to consider investing in pageants. ENDS
