Three more categories Hall of Fame, Best Dressed and Lost Hero/Heroine have been added to this year’s Glitz Awards of BW Celebs billed for August 20.

As such the 2020 awards brought by N.M.T Productions in partnership with Lopeo Investment will have 38 categories.

Two awards will be presented under the Hall of Fame category, while five will be presented to the departed souls while the Best Dressed award will be announced on the day of the event.

“Best Dressed award is an award which will be determined at the event and will be voted for by the public on social media as well as attendees of the event,” stated awards project manager, Nkgopolang Tlhomelang.

Tlhomelang also noted that the Lost Hero/Heroine award would be in recognition of the deceased creatives.

Out of 167 nominees 164 will be voted by the public.

For the Best Dressed award, Tlhomelang said as patrons arrive, they would be identified through the photo-shoots and thereafter select a few best dressed whom the winner would be voted from the list.

He said they ould post pictures of selected nominees for the award on social media for the public to vote and the winner would be announced during the event.

In March, Glitz Awards of BW Celebs announced categories and nominees for the awards and opened for the public to vote. Tlhomelang said there had been a positive response from the public.

As organisers, he said they were working on logistics of the event among others, performances of the day.

“Ideally, we hope to have five local acts and two international artistes on the night of the event,” Tlhomelang said.

He added that they hoped for collaborations and working relations from international performances, as their objective included marketing Botswana pop culture through the event.

Tlhomelang said bringing international acts was a result of market response and also for the local industry to be seasoned and in sync with international standards regarding showbiz.

Meanwhile, Botswana Press Agency photographer Phenyo Moalosi made the nominees under the Print Media Stylist category.

Moalosi is up against Sharon Mathala, Lame Chaba, Aubrey Lute, Nicholas Mokwena, Neo Kolantsho as well as Lawrence Seretse.

Glitz Awards of BW Celebs is all about establishing a professional environment and to formalise rewarding Botswana decorated icons. ENDS
