Nico United coach believes that, although they are not official champions of First Division North league, they are a premier league side in waiting.
In an interview after defeating Chadibe at Sam Sono Stadium on Saturday, Botshelo ‘Observer’ Pelokgosi said his team was playing the remaining games to fulfill his ambition of opening a 21 gap between them and the next challenger.
He said he would aim for 15 points gap if he failed the ambitious 21 points difference.
They have so far played 18 games and accumulated 41 points while second placed Eleven Angels have garnered 29 points from 17 games. Angels were to play Tafic yesterday.
“This 2-1 win over Chadibe was a clear message to Batswana that Nico have arrived in the premier league,” said Pelokgosi.
Although he lost just a game against Green Lovers, Pelokgosi would not let any team to defeat them.
“I have to fight hard to collect all the remaining points and give the challengers an assignment to close the massive gap we are opening,” added Pelokgosi.
Although he conceded that Nico were a high-riding side, Chadibe coach, Murphy Maseko said his team could have ended with a better result had they used their scoring opportunities.
Maseko said his side would survive relegation chop.
“We’re still fighting. We will survive,” Maseko said.
