Gideon Warriors want to retune

05 Apr 2022

Gideon Warriors captain, Kitso Dintwe, says his team is putting its house in order to ensure that they honour fixtures and improve performance in softball league.

Since the league commenced, the team has forfeited some games due to low turn up of players and has not only displayed dismal performance but placed the team in poor log standing.

So far the team has forfeited two and lost seven games.

In an interview following its recent 1-14 loss to Wells, Dintwe said their team was relatively new and most players were students while others were self-employed, adding that factors such as tight schedule and financial limitations affected them.

Dintwe said they were still developing the team but due to financial limitations, they sometimes failed to take players to games and appealed to companies to assist the team financially.

Concerning their encounter against Wells, he said his charges lost control of the game right from the first inning.

Meanwhile, Wells also clobbered BMC Rivals 14-3  and their women team also hammered BMC Rivals 7-1. Another interesting game was between Titans and UB Giants women, which the latter won 7-5.

On Friday, Police IX women hammered Dinare 9 - 0 while e Police IX men won 14-3.

Police IX winning streak continued on Saturday when women team trounced UB Giants 13 – 6 and the men won 3 – 1 as if that was not enough Police IX men went on to beat Blue Angels 8 – 0, Panthers annihilated Dinare 14 – 4 and Panthers men beat Dinare men 2 – 1 while Gatalamotho beat BMC Rivals men 2 - 1 .
