All roads lead to Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown Saturday as Mascom Charity Cup gets underway.

The participating four teams; Security Systems, BDF XI, Gaborone United and Orapa United were selected from top eight of the Botswana Premier League 2020/21 season.

Speaking at a media briefing in Gaborone Tuesday, Botswana Football League (BFL) chief executive officer, Solomon Ramochotlhwane, said Mascom had partnered with BFL to launch a one-day football spectacular.

He announced that the Security Systems vs BDF XI game would kick off at 9am.

Orapa United and Gaborone United will follow at noon.

The winners of the two games would meet at 5pm for a final.

Ramochotlhwane said tickets were available at any web ticket outlet countrywide and they would be sold P100 for grand stand, P70 east stand as well as P50 for north and south stands.

He also confirmed that police and other security agencies would ensure that supporters and their assets were protected

Ramochotlhwane said supporters would register at the entrance where they would produce their vaccination cards, adding that a temporary testing centre would also be available.

For her part, Mascom brand and communications manager, Malebogo Sesinyi explained that the initiative, which was part of Mascom My Zaka platform, was a way of appreciating customers.

As a result, she said proceeds would go to charity.

She noted that category prizes would be paid through MyZaka Mascom Money.

These, she said, included, player of the tournament, top goal scorer, best goal keeper, and man of the match in all the three games.

Sesinyi also confirmed that champions would go home with P250 000, runners up with P150 000 while others would pocket P9 000 each.

“Get your tickets early to avoid last minute rush as this wound be a fun filled day with gates opening at 6am,” she added.

Sesinyi further urged clubs to motivate their supporters to buy tickets on time and in large numbers. ENDS
