Eleven Angels on Saturday walloped Maun Heroes 5- 0 to progress to the next stage of the Orange FA Cup.
The match played at Maun Sports Complex saw the Francistown based First Division North team launching an early attack keeping the Heroes defence on their toes.
A mistake by Heroes in the 19th minute inside the box saw a swift Monty Enosa going in for an attack as bhe opened the score sheet.
The visitors continued with their unwavering attack with the combination of Enosa, Desmond Mtokufa and Keletso Ogotseng constantly dribbling their way to the posts.
In the 40th minute, Maun Heroes Deric Saukwa almost levelled the score but he was unlucky as his shot crawled outside the goal post.
A few minutes later, Eleven Angels’s Bakang Mpatane caught the defence napping as they were making lousy passes inside the box again and he capitalised on their errors and scored.
Two minutes from half time, Mpatane struck in another goal to open a three- nil gap for Angels.
It seemed the Francistown boys had realised that the opponent’s goalie was the weakest link as they continued to shake him up now and then.
The visitors bagged a fourth goal in the 48th minute by Mtokufa who looped in a smooth finish above the goal keeper.
Heroes fans hurled protests from the stands demanding for a change at the goal posts which subsequently led to Tlhabanelo Masike being subbed for Kobamelo Obusitswe.
The new goalie seemed to have a good effect on his team as they looked resolute and saved numerous attacks from Angels who were not shaken by the change.
A fervent Mtokufa clawed his way past defence in the 73th minute and delivered a fifth goal for Angels.
In other games played this weekend in the north region, Sua Flamingoes beat Santa Green 4-1, Chadibe won 4-3 against Chobe United while Tsa Botlhe beat Sankoyo Bushbucks 1-0. ENDS
