Eyes roll over to Orange FA Cup in north
24 Feb 2022
First Division North (FDN) league teams will this weekend travel a step down to division one playgrounds to fight for progression into the next stage of the third season of the Orange FA Cup.
On one hand, the division one teams in the northern block are sizing up their fists against the big boys of FDN.
They are not pushovers, so they believe. In fact, they are worthy challengers. They are also in the chase for the FA Cup championship.
Simply, gloves are off in the all-inclusive cup competition powered by Orange Botswana with ultimate champions banking P700 000. The FA Cup involves teams at all BFA recognised divisions.
The lower teams are sounding warning bells to their top league brothers that there is no easy ride in the 48 team tournament.
On Saturday, Tsabotlhe will lie in wait for Sankoyo Bush Bucks at Serowe Sports Complex.
Still on Saturday, but at Maun Sports Complex, FDN campaigners Eleven Angels will have to recite their powerful prayers against resistance from Maun Heroes.
The Maun side wants to be dubbed the heroes of the North West post their match against Angels.
On a Sunday, at Diamond Chiefs Ground, Letlhakane, Pearisa will intend to upset Nico United for a place in the next stage.
In the other games slated for weekend, Sua Flamingoes, now a Premier League side, will be home to Santa Green at Serowe Sports Complex. Chadibe await FDN Chadibe United at Chadibe FC Arena.
Maun Terrors travels to Semolale VDC ground for a battle with home side Peacemakers.
At Palapye Swallows Ground, BIUST All Stars awaits Boston while Calendar Stars welcome Motlakase Power Dynamos at Francistown City Stadium. ends
