 It is crunch time for Botswana senior women national football team as it enters the lion’s den today in an Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifier. Botswana team alias The Mares has vowed to kick and seriously wound the Mighty Warriors of Zimbabwe.

This is our time, we will fight as if this is our last game in life. Look, the coaches have done their work, now it is up to us to hoist the flag high. As a leader of the team, my task will be to make sure we play well for the 90 minutes. Our aim is to win or finish with Zimbabwe today so that when we play the second leg, we would have made things easier for ourselves.
Refilwe ‘Seven’ Tholakele:

We are prepared for the game, our morale is very high. What is left for us is to win the game and finish them at home. Victory is certain.

Esalenna Galekutlhe:

With the preparations we have gone through, my message to Zimbabwe is that we are coming for them. Yes, for a very long time they have been giving us a torrid time, but football is football it is played for 90 minutes. They must undermine the Mares at their own peril.

Keitumetse ‘Ben 10’ Dithebe:

I think we want it more, we have never qualified for AWCON, but Zimbabwe has been to Africa Women Championships four times, so we are hungrier for success. So the 180 minutes are very important for us as players and Batswana, we want to go to Morocco ‘by fire by force’.
