The winner assumed the position to represent Africa continent with other 11 continents in the upcoming World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) world championship scheduled for New Zealand from February19 to 27.
Through the continental championships, the global representation at the WBSC men’s softball world cup would include participation from Africa (one), Asia (two), America (four), Europe (two), Oceania (two) and wild card (one).
In an interview, senior team manager, Tebogo Johannes, expressed disappointment saying they had lost a crucial game that could have opened doors for them.
He said in all the games they played, their performance was promising as they dominated in all the encounters.
Based on their previous innings, Johannes said their aim was to grab the silverware which would have elevated them to represent the continent at the world championship, but luck was not on their side. ENDS
