BAA meet fails to produce qualifications

The third edition of the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) track and field series held in Francistown on Saturday failed to produce any qualifications for major international events

However,  some athletes delivered outstanding performances.

Bayapo Ndori of Maun Botswana Defence Force Club (MBDF) registered  a personal best of 45.04 seconds in the 400m senior men race.

Another 400m specialist and teammate, Leungo Scotch came second with a personal best time of 46.51 seconds.

Third was Kebelo Shabane of Lions Den Athletics Club who registered 47.20 seconds.

Letsile Tebogo was disqualified for a false start.

Keene Motukisi ran 10.59 seconds in the 100m senior men after a long time without competing.

In long jump (women), Kendy Theetso of University of Botswana Athletics Club (UBAC) scooped position one after a jump of 5.47 m followed by Kelebogile Montahiwa of Francistown Athletics Club (FAC) who jumped 4.00m whilst Kell Molapisi of Mater Spei Athletics Club settled for position three.

In high jump men, Thuto Mothomme of Francistown Athletics Club (FAC) came first with 2.22m seconded by Seleka Karabo of Moroka Athletics Club (MRAC) jumping 2.01 m whilst third spot went to Lebakeng Phenyo of MBDF with a jump of 1.94m. ENDS
