30 Jan 2022
Gaborone Book Festival (GBF) has been selected alongside 11 other international literature festivals and centres to participate in the second edition of the Literature Live Around the World (LLAW) on February 5.
This year’s six-hour live broadcast follows the success of the experimental project held last year, which attracted international audiences beyond Norway.
The Botswana segment is scheduled to broadcast on Youtube at 6pm local time.
The event, organised by the Bergen International Literature Festival known as LitFestBergen in Norway, is intended to create a platform for various literacy organisations around the world to showcase their diverse literature through selected local authors.
Botswana will be represented by contemporary authors in Botho Lejowa, Tlotlo Tsamaase and Tomeletso Sereetsi of Sereetsi and the Natives, who will be hosted by radio personality Cathy Malejane.
“We are honoured to have been selected by LitFestBergen to be a part of LLAW 2022.
We are excited and looking forward to showcasing the diverse literary talent that Botswana has to the world.
We also thank Access TV immensely as our technical partner, which will enable us to beam our segment to audiences in a world class manner,” said GBF co-founder Keikantse Phele in a statement.
Other countries expected to participate in the live broadcast include Australia, China, India, UAE, UK, France, Brazil, Hungary, Canada and USA. ENDS
