Peacemakers wallop Santa Green in First Division North game

Peacemakers came from behind to beat Santa Green 3-1 in Debswana First Division North game at Samabaje ground Saturday.
The Bobonong side trailed 1-0 for the entire first half, but came back in the second half a spirited side to garner maximum points into their points’ cart.
Ntthojediboleda, as Peacemakers are fondly called, orchestrated the turnaround with the introduction of Gabathomphe Tsheko in the first half.
The nippy playmaker gave Peacemakers a reason to play with conviction.
In the early minutes of the second half Ronnie Kwarare equalised for the Samabaje based club with a header from a free-kick.
A little flick was enough to redirect the ball and beat goalkeeper, Olorato Ontiretse, to the back of the net.
The goal seemed to have awoken Ntthojediboleda who hitherto had been struggling to string meaningful passes into the Santa Green box.
Santa Green had assumed a lead in the first minute courtesy of Tillie Setlhako who unsettled hosts and set the travelling fans into some wild frenzy that was cut short in the second half.
Santa Green, led by captain Marema Gabohole, enjoyed a seemingly easy first half with hosts failing to be authoritative in their backyard.
While pressing for a lead Tsheko extended Peacemakers’ lead with an easy tap-in much to the relief of the faithful supporters who had lost their voices after Setlhako struck home for the Mahalapye side.
To further compound Santa Green woes Thabang Watlala struck from a penalty spot to secure the maximum points for the new entrants.
Prior, substitute Calvin Mosumo was brought down in the box and the referee awarded the penalty amid the Santa Green protests.
The protests ensued and resulted in some unruly Santa Green supporters attacking an assistant referee.
The referee then paused the game until his assistant safety was secured.
The police were also called in to revert the situation to normalcy.
In the process the home team had to labour in bated breath to celebrate their fourth win of their rookie season.
Though FDN greenhorns, Peacemakers seem to enjoy a candy run after registering four wins, a draw and two losses.
The losses were both at the hands of Francistown sides TAFIC Sporting Club and Calendar Stars. ENDS
