Masitaoka fall to Galaxy

Molepolole-based premier league outfit, Masitaoka, have suffered the indignity of losing their goalkeeper coach to Jwaneng Galaxy during the week that they received a beating from the same team.
Charles Mokwadi left Majatlhaga during the week to join Galaxy. And, on Saturday, Majatlhaga fell 1-3 to Galaxy in a league encounter at the National Stadium.
Masitaoka started the game on a high tempo, piling pressure on the visitors and their efforts were rewarded in the eighth minute when Kobamelo Kebaikanye found the back of the net.
Despite struggling to quell the pressure exerted by Kebaikanye and team captain, Patrick Kaunda, Galaxy also started to find loopholes in the defence of their opponents and equalised through Thabang Sesinyi on the stroke of recess.
Masitaoka’s goal scoring opportunities in the second half were frustrated by Galaxy’s goalkeeper, Anthony Gouws.
He even received a yellow card for time wasting in the process.
Galaxy took the lead in the 50th minute through Rudath Wendel and they sealed their victory in the 88th minute through Mpho Kgomo.
The win moved the Jwaneng-based team a step upwards into the seventh position while Majatlhaga are on position 11.
Majatlhaga started the New Year on a positive note with a draw against Prisons XI, but have since lost four consecutive games.
On one hand, Galaxy registered three wins and two defeats.
Masitaoka coach, Nelson Olebile said he was not impressed with the performance of his team.
He said his team had lost the spark to get positive results.
“We lacked discipline in our play and as a result, we gave our opponents easy scoring chances and they have experienced players,” said Olebile.
Meanwhile, Galaxy coach, Morena Ramoreboli said the outcome of the game was a mirror of what the team was doing at practice sessions.
“Our first goal clearly illustrated one of the moves that we had been practicing,” he said.
Ramoreboli also said the team was steadily moving in the desired direction.
In other games log leaders Gaborone United defeated Security Systems 3-0, Gilport Lions suffered a 0-4 defeat against Police XI and Prisons XI defeated Mogoditshane Fighters 0-1. ENDS
