Former Miss Botswana 2009 second princess and Real Housewives of Johannesburg reality show first season participant, Naledi Willers has been described as no quitter, who was positive and grateful.
Speaking at her daughter’s funeral, Bagomi Willers said Naledi, who died December 7, from cancer complications, endured a lot pain but fought till the end.
She said Naledi was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2019 and started chemotherapy the following year, a course she completed only to be diagnosed with another type of cancer that attacked her in full force February this year.
That type, she said, attacked her brain, liver and lungs, adding that Naledi fought hard but never recovered.
She said watching her daughter battle the disease was difficult for her as a mother.
Willers took solace in that she supported her daughter and stayed by her side until her last days, something that Naledi was appreciative of.
Young as Naledi was, Willers said, she learnt to be strong and independent from her and that she appreciated the years that God gave her daughter.
“My daughter loved people and was beautiful inside and outside. She managed to achieve many things in the short years of her life,” Willers said.
Naledi’s friend, Tumalano Sephatla said her friend was beautiful, charismatic, versatile, loved beautiful things and lived life to the fullest.
She said Naledi was talented and participated in beauty contests while still young and won.
“When she wanted to do something, she would do it without hesitation,” Sephatla said.
Naledi was born November 11, 1990 in Palapye.
She did her primary school education at Kgaswe English Medium School from 1996 to 2001 in Palapye and attended junior school at Standford Lake College from 2002 to 2004 and completed at National School of Arts in South African in 2005.
