TOWNSHIP ROLLERS FC AND HASSAN OKTAY PART WAYS
08 Dec 2021
Township Rollers and Coach Hassan Oktay have parted ways with immediate effect.
"We wish to thank Mr Oktay for his time with us and wish him all the best for his future endeavours," states the Gaborone based football club in a press atatement dated December 8.
In the interim, the club management has appointed Oarabile 'Wilshere' Seabo as head coach on a caretaker basis and subject to approval by Botswana Football Association. The arrangement, the release says, will remain in place until a more permanent solution has been found by the club.
"It follows, therefore, that it is envisaged that Mr. Seabo will be in charge of the team for this weekend's away match [against] Sua Flamengos, kick-off and for the foreseeable future," explains the release.
"Management is acutely aware that before the start of the season, we sold you a dream about starting a 'Movement' and building a team that will be competitive and will challenge for honours. We wish to assure you that we have every intention of keeping that promise," so promises the club
Popa management also appeals to members to continue supporting the team in large numbers and pray for patience 'as we endeavour to put this project back on track'. End
