07 Dec 2021

National women Under 20 team captain, Keitumetse ‘Ben 10’ Dithebe is in France for trials with division one side, ASJ Soyaux-Charente.

The French team has been struggling in the league and Ben 10 might be what the doctor has prescribed.

In an interview, the Mexican Girls player expressed delight to have been invited for the trials, adding that her mission would be to impress the team’s manager to be offered a contract.

The team paid for her flight ticket.

Dithebe said she had been preparing for the trials and attributed her fitness to Under 20 camps.

“Remember women’s football in Botswana is still not active, but at least the Under 20 has been active with 2022 Costa Rica FIFA U-20 world qualifiers games, so I will say they assisted me with game time,” she said.

Mexican Girls coach, Oaitse Moeti, said he was happy that his player was invited for trials, adding that it showed that his team was doing something right.

“This year for my players. Esalenna Galekhutle left for America to study and play football at the Tyler Junior College for four years,” he said.

Moeti said Ben 10 had been preparing well for the trials and expectations were that she would do well and sign a contract.

Furthermore, he said he was confident given that tactically and technically she was good.

He said any coach would enjoy working with Ben 10 and she used a left foot, something which he said made her player unique.

“I have no doubt that she will make it, she is a special player, hardworking, committed and she has leadership qualities, so I am confident she will make her dream of playing outside the country to come true, ”he said.ENDS
