Four candidates will contest the Metsimotlhabe council seat in the upcoming by-elections billed for December 18.

The seat fell vacant following the death of councillor Andrew Sebobi last year February.

Only two political parties submitted candidates to IEC Returning officer Ms Gorata Sefawe during nomination on Friday.

Mr Victor Moremi will contest the seat under the Botswana Democratic Party ticket while Mr Innocent Moamogwe will represent the Alliance for Progressives.

Two independent candidates will also contest for the council seat namely Mr Kutlwano Rathari and Ms Neo Kgope.

There will be five polling stations: Monageng Cattle Crush, Ikageng Junior Secondary School, Metsimotlhabe Primary School, UCCSA church as well as the community hall.
Ikageng Junior secondary school will also be used as the counting centre. Ends
