First division-north rookies, Chadibe, surprised Sankoyo Bush Bucks with a 1-0 win in Francistown on Saturday.

The new boys travelled to Francistown Old Stadium with one mission; to prove that their promotion was by merit and hardwork.

Chadibe aka Abafanabejabulile made their intentions known early into the game as they proved to be too much for Sankoyo. 

Chadibe players were a marvel to watch and created scoring opportunities, which they unfortunately failed to convert.  

The goal came in the 28th minute through Robert Sedimo after receiving a telling pass from Themba Lucky

And Sankoyo’s failure to coordinate themselves gave new comers an edge over them. 

Realising what was against them, the Maun side tried to exert more pressure against Chadibe, but lady luck was not on their side as the visitors committed silly mistakes.

This did not go well with their coach, Antony Timothy, who time and again urged them to stop misusing chances.

He later told this publication that though he accepted defeat, the team’s training started late due to COVID-19 pandemic.

He said the first segment of the game did not work for him as the side failed to come to the party.

“I must admit that the first segment was poor on our side and the goal that Chadibe scored was caused by my side’s lack of concentration,” said Timothy.

He explained that his players came to their senses in the second half.

However, Timothy said the team would have to go back to the drawing board and rectify all the mistakes.

“We will have to work overtime to make our supporters happy again,”he added.

Chadibecoach, Lungisani Heart, said he was happy that his boys managed to snatch three points.

He said they prepared for the game and used everything at their disposal to ensure that they bag the three points.  

He said the team comprised of youth and experienced players.

“We have recruited some seasoned players from well celebrated teams such as Tafic FC and this has shown to be advantageous for us as evidenced by snatching valuable points from Sankoyo,” he added.  ends
