Sankoyo Bush Bucks chairperson, Itumeleng Kelebetseng, has resigned his position due to personal reasons.
Vice chairperson, Sekai Morotsi confirmed in an interview that the club received the resignation letter on Tuesday. He said Kelebetseng notified management last year about his intentions to part ways with the club, but they convinced him otherwise.
Kelebetseng has been at the helm of the club for four years and he stated in his resignation letter that he believed the club would grow under the new leadership.
Morotsi hailed Kelebetseng for his passion and dedication to the club
However, management moved in swiftly to appoint the club’s former public relations officer, Baganetsi Kamanakao as the interim chairperson.
Meanwhile, Morotsi pointed out that the club was ready for the league noting that they had acquired young skilful players from Ngamiland region.
In addition, he said they had given the technical team adequate support to shape the team. He stated that efforts to find a sponsor were on-going.
Morotsi said though they had pinned their hopes on their partner, Great Plains Conservation Company, that did not materialise.
The duo entered into a partnership last year following Sankoyo’s plea for assistance as the team was reported to have missed some of its away games due to financial constraints. ENDS
