Gunners woes deepen

Extension Gunners FC were once again torn apart by Gaborone United FC in a dull mid-week fixture at the National stadium Tuesday.
Mapantsola lost 0-3 to Moyagoleele to record their third consecutive defeat since the beginning of the season.
Gunners, who are yet to score a goal, lost 0-2 to Rollers in their opening fixture, succumbed to a similar score line against visiting Orapa United last weekend and watched in disbelieve as GU ran riot on Tuesday.
GU took the lead as early as the first minute through a neat Thatayaone Kgamanyane header.
The exciting winger looped highest to beat Ofentse Radikgageng who had failed to communicate with his advancing keeper Tumiso Mashakola.
Moments later, Kgamanyane cleverly inched past a snarl of Gunners defensive line before he was illegally stopped by Radikgageng and referee Gobitswamang Johannes pointed to the spot.
He dusted himself up and converted the penalty kick bringing his goal tally to four from three games.
On the stroke of half time, a couple of neat exchanges by GU was finally rewarded when Mpho Kgaswane curled in a beauty from just outside the box.
The goal dismantled Gunners and immediately after the break, Peleng Boys rang a couple of changes to look for a miracle recovery.
GU continued with their impressive passing game but missed a couple of good chances.
Gunners picked up the pieces a bit too late deep in the second half and their influential sharp shooter Odirile Lekoba’s last ditch attempt was directed wide off the mark.
Gunners were hit by a setback when their creative midfielder Dirang Moloi ran out of steam and was replaced by enterprising youngster Ashton Esterhuizen whose late introduction made little impact.
The three first half goals were enough to seal the three points for the home side and pile more pressure on the visitors on their next assignments.
In other games played Tuesday afternoon Rollers beat BDF XI 2-1 in Lobatse. Police XI shocked Orapa United with an emphatic 2-1 score line at Itekeng stadium, Galaxy piled more pressure on newcomers Morupule Wanderers with a 2-0 win. ENDS
