Minister of International Affairs and Cooperation, Dr Lemogang Kwape is scheduled to lead Botswana’s delegation during the 6th session of the Botswana-Namibia Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC) which commences today.
A press release from the ministry says the session, to be held virtually February 16-18, follows the recent meeting between the two countries’ heads of state in Windhoek which culminated in the signing of a bilateral agreement establishing a Bi-National Commission (BNC).
It says the session seeks to further strengthen bilateral engagements by providing an opportunity to discuss issues pertinent to the socio-economic development of both countries including trade and investment, agriculture, health, mining, environment as well as tourism.
The release states that the 6th JPCC will also take stock of progress made on the implementation of existing bilateral cooperation agreements between the two countries.
The first two days of the session will be dedicated to a meeting of senior officials with the ministerial segment slated for the last day. Ends
