Chairperson calls for investor-friendly regulations

Kgatleng District Council chairperson Mr Daniel Molokwe says the district did not provide services as expected this year due to either COVID-19 or lack of funds.
Giving a keynote address at the Kgatleng full council session Monday, he said creation of employment and provision of quality service delivery was key to addressing most of the challenges affecting communities.
“As a council, we must advocate for ease of doing business and speak in one voice to see to it that we attract investors to our district. It is key to ensure that we relax unfavorable and anti-business regulations and where possible cut the red-tape and reduce unnecessary delays,” he said.
Mr Molokwe further said that attracting investors to the district was everybody’s responsibility, starting with facilitation from the council, central government offices, private sector and the general public.
He said councilors must urge their constituents to practice business-friendly approaches and to give investor proper reception into the district.
He further appealed to the public to shun gender-based violence.
“Gender-based violence is a social ill that is bound to destroy our future if left unattended. I therefore request particularly the youth as the main victims of GBV to leave any abusive relationships and to report perpetrators to authorities because their lives matter,” he said. Ends
