18 Nov 2020

Gospel artiste Phildah Masogo has released a video for single track titled Keep faith.

In an interview, Masogo said the video was produced by Jack Botlhoko at Touch Studios in Gaborone, saying it was a follow up of her 10-track album also titled Keep faith that was released late last year.

Masogo said the video was a prayer intended to instil hope, faith and assurance of God’s protection amid the COVID-19 pandemic challenges.

She said the video was also meant to appreciate the good fight that the country’s leadership had kept up in efforts to come up with strategies to lessen the impact of the pandemic.

“When the pandemic came in a lot of people were shaken and confused, some almost gave up on their dream, therefore through the video, I wanted to send out a message to help people not to give up but to have faith that God controlled every situation for the better outcomes,” she said.

Masogo said she had long had passion for the gospel music while she was at primary school, where she always took a lead at assembly point and actively participated in church choir.

She said in 2009, she became a full time backing vocalist for some local gospel artistes.

This, she said was gateway to music industry and released her solo debut album titled Hear my prayer in 2016.

Masogo said her journey into the music industry was not a walk in the park.

She said some of the challenges she encountered were financial constraints to fully brand herself as a gospel artiste.

However, her passion for  music made her beat the challenges  and today, she has two albums, Hear my prayer and Keep faith released in 2016 and 2019 respectively.

Her other achievement is the award she received in 2018 emerging as the Best Zion Female artiste.

Masogo said some aspects that sharpened her skills and kept her going despite the challenges she encountered was collaborating with other well-seasoned local gospel artistes such as multi award winning, Kabelo Eric, Tshegofatso Godirwang, Tshepho Zion and others.

Masogo also noted that she had shared stage with the sensational and popular South African gospel artiste Winnie Mashaba. Ends
