Air Botswana re-commences its scheduled regional operations effective November 10.
A statement from the company says in accordance with the government’s announcement on further relaxation of international travel restrictions, Air Botswana board and management had taken a decision to offer four weekly flights between Gaborone and Johannesburg, but they would be adjusted based on travel demand.
It further states that this takes into account the prevalent travel conditions and protocols, still to be adhered to.
The statement further points out that other regional destinations will be gradually introduced, including Cape Town, Harare and Lusaka.
The board state that they view the move as a positive development, which will afford them an opportunity to progress on the recovery plan.
In this regard, the board remains committed to continue implementing comprehensive safety and health measures, which are in line with globally recommended COVID-19 mitigation standards.
“Our focus remains deeply rooted on the recovery of the airline, its commercial viability and sustainability. Despite the difficult operating environment, we continue to explore new ways of doing things, exploit any possible opportunities and have the safety of our staff and customers at the heart of our business,” says the statement.
The release also states that Air Botswana encourages the public and customers to take advantage of its online services for assistance with domestic and regional travel bookings and other related enquiries via the business website; www.airbotswana.co.bw and call centre + 267 3680900.
Furthermore, the public and the travelling community are advised to familiarise themselves with the prevailing travel regulations and guidelines as provided by health authorities and government. Ends
