Simple bold fashion statements

This year’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), which was held Monday November 9, did not live up to its red carpet fashion expectations, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s SONA fashion paled in comparison to the previous years’ as for the first time, Members of Parliament were not accompanied by their spouses and/or partners, who usually lit up the red carpet. Most MPs opted for practical, simpler outfits, though a few looked fashionable and well put together.
Member of Parliament for Selebi-Phikwe West, Dithapelo Keorapetse, stylishly utilised shades of bluewatch check, combined with brown, for his blazer, matching it with brown pants.
Keorapetse, completed his outfit with an amazing grey and brown shoe.
Clad in well-fitting tailored suits, matched with designer shoes, Messrs Wynter Mmolotsi, Thapelo Letsholo and John Thiite, did not disappoint as usual.
Other male MPs, such as the youngest sitting legislator, Mr Yandani Boko, kept it simple in a muted slim fit suit and a white shirt.
However, the ever jolly, Onneetse Ramogapi, who is known for his flamboyant suits, with matching face masks, disappointed his ‘fans’ with a muted grey coloured tartan two-piece suit and a black face mask.
Specially Elected Member of Parliament, Phildah Kereng did it for the ladies, by paying homage to Herero heritage in a violet Victorian style grey and purple shades Herero dress, with, ballooned sleeves, befitting of ‘Ohorokova’ royalty.
She definitely stole the show as she topped off her outfit with a Herero cow horn-shaped hat.
Also noticeably dressed was Beauty Manake. She caused a stir on the red carpet in her well-tailored emerald suit, paired with black stilettos.
Kgalagadi North MP, Talita Monnakgotla as well as Gaborone Bonnigton North MP, Annah Mokgethi also came to the party in their earthly golden shades attires, with a touch of pale brown. ENDS
