Maun-based author Thulaganyo Serole has launched her book titled The World’s Hope for COVID-19, which aims to encourage people to be strong in the midst of adversity.
Minister for Health and Wellness, Dr Edwin Dikoloti said during the launch in Maun on October 30 that the book came at the right time when COVID-19 cases were on the rise in Botswana and the rest of the world.
He said The World’s Hope for COVID-19, which had been published by Prime Publishers in Gaborone, was a manual to life during and post COVID-19 as it encouraged individuals not to be quitters when faced with uncertainties.
Dr Dikoloti commended the author for her insight saying the book would also serve as a guiding tool to the leaders in the COVID-19 fight.
He said the book was an eye opener to see challenges and possible solutions as COVID-19 had negatively affected individuals, the economic development and health sectors globally.
Maun Ministers Fraternal Apostle Terence Sechele, who is the mentor to the author, said the book was conceptualised around March this year when Botswana began to experience cases of COVID-19.
Sechele said the author was on a quest to find out how COVID-19 affected the church and she interviewed several pastors as the journey to write the book started.
“There were times when she felt she could not go on but as her mentor I encouraged her to keep on,” he said.
Serole said she wrote the book to encourage people to know about the truth of life and the creator.
“The book is a step by step guide for one to live their desired life no matter how stuck or hopeless life seems and to redirect their fear to God,” she said.
Serole, who is also an entrepreneur, said she had a newly formed charity organisation that assist community, prisoners and hope to expand to students through proceeds from the book. ENDS
