Chill Sip and Shop hosts entrepreneurs
01 Nov 2020
Outdoor event, Chill, Sip and Shop, provided a COVID-19 safety protocol compliant activity to revellers over the weekend.
Held at Duranta Gardens in Gaborone, the event brought together some entrepreneurs who displayed products and services.
With no performances at the event, patrons were treated to a disc jockey performance whilst moving around to appreciate products on display.
Alpha Nchenje, who provides massage services, said the event provided them with an opportunity to engage with clients and showcase their services.
Having been in the business for only three months, Nchenje of Royal Massages said despite health protocols, his business had been doing well.
His services included foot, neck and body massages, waxing, facials and pedicures; all of them on mobile service.
Nchenje noted that he saw a gap in mobile services in his line of business, therefore he grabbed the opportunity.
He said providing the service to comfort of a client was fulfilling for both himself as the service provider and the client.
He appealed to Batswana to change the narrative with regard to massage.
“Massages are not meant for the rich, everyone can do it,” stated the 25-year- old Nchenje, adding that massage had health benefits.
In an interview, event organiser, Olorato Ledikwe, expressed gratitude at patrons for adhering to COVID-19 protocols.
She applauded them for their patience especially during registration, which delayed commencement of the event. ends
