The school closed on August 11, to activate contact tracing after a teacher tested positive for COVID-19.

The latest COVID-19 positive case, Ms Bontle said, was discovered from the 138 contacts that the DHMT identified during contact tracing, which began on August 12.

“Contact tracing is still ongoing in the district and any development will be communicated to the public in due course,” she said.

She said DHMT had identified 188 contacts, 151 of them quarantined at different facilities while 37 were home quarantined.

Of these 188, she said 138 had been tested and only one tested positive for COVID-19.

She encouraged members of the public to remain calm, continue adhering to the COVID-19 protocols and cooperate with health workers to curb the spread of the disease. Ends
