Company pledges borehole

Advanced Global Business has pledged a borehole with a capacity of five cubic litres to Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) to augment water supply the entire period dedicated to fighting the spread of COVID-19.

That, according to the company, was their way of aiding government fight the monster, which has now become a global common enemy, the Coronavirus.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony on April 11, the company chief executive officer, Mr Teezzarh Seduke said they realised the need to pledge the borehole during such trying times because of widespread water shortage in Molepolole.

He said no matter how small the quantity of water was, every single drop counted, particularly in the fight against the spread of the virus.

The company also handed three other boreholes for use with a capacity of 15 cubic litres.

Mr Seduke, also invited other business people in the water sector to help equip the three boreholes so that they could be put to use.

WUC acting CEO, Mr Gaselemogwe Senai thanked the company for their generosity saying their combined efforts would go a long way in alleviating the water situation in Molepolole in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

“The need for water this time is a matter of life and death,” Mr Senai said.

On the other hand, private secretary to Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Ame Makoba also commended the company for their pledge and urged others to do likewise.

Mr Makoba said Botswana Breweries Limited had since volunteered a water bowser to help distribute water in Molepolole and nearby areas.  Ends
